Why I am receiving distorted audio using LISTENTO?

LISTENTO is a true bypass audio plug-in. If you’re getting distorted audio this usually means that the streaming party has distorted audio on their side.

This is usually caused by them not having a channel limiter or compressor. Even if your meter levels look correct in the receiver plug-in, it’s important to remember that with audio streams, not a single format except a 32 bit float can show that there’s a stream coming in higher than 0 dbfs. It will always seem to be clipped at 0 dbfs, even though the actual stream could be above that level.

If you switch to a 32 bit float, you’ll then be able to see right away that the transmission itself has peaks to eliminate these possibilities, ensure that the streaming party uses a limiter or a compressor.
